What does Res Vis mean?

Just finished the book (really enjoyed it!) and came to the reddit for questions I had about the ending. I understand Vis was copied and there are 3 of him, spread across the other 2 worlds/ realms. What exactly does Res mean though? I keep seeing it in other posts
