is hair transplant worth it if you are not willing to take 5 alpha reductase inhibitor?
Hello i am a male in my 30s i had a hair that was admired by almost everyone growing up, it started to recede and lose density so much in my 20s , i now have maybe half the density i used to and it receded about 2-3 inches but it is still Okay enough that i am not bald. i have used Minoxidil and Derma roller for years, however there is something i have never been brave enough to consider and that is Finasteride or dutesteride . reading and hearing about Post finasteride syndrome made me very scared, i love my hair, but i love sex more, in fact it is the only Anti-stress thing that i have. any way after seeing some pictures on this subreddit, i think i could benefit from the transplant it will bring forward the receded 2 inches and might add a little density to the rest of crown but even the first part alone will be okay as i usually keep my hair short nowadays anyway. i know if i were to take finasteride that it will definitely bring back some density to my head but i just cannot take the risk of PFS for hair even though the probability of people that get that is very small indeed i don't want to , my question is will i need Finasteride to maintain the transplanted hair?
