Tips to make proper use of wide shelling

Hi folks. I have been using the Arkveld GL as a normal one so far, spamming full burst like a madman. I want to refine the way I play and really get into the wide side of the weapon. What should I focus on? Charged shelling? Poke shelling? Any tip is appreciated, thanks.
