my thoughts on Better Than Adventure
This mod does so much good, and for the most part fits well with the beta vibe. Most additions feel absolutely necessary. I only have a few issues with it. I wonder if these changes can be reversed using an older version..
likes: -world height increase, much needed
-hostile mob variants, adds spice
-scrapped items like quivers, giving that alt universe vibe
-faithful lighting, new gloomy nether lighting
-nether still desolate
-cool stuff like map zooming, needing compass etc to use f3
-hidden recipes
-new dungeons
-beta terrain gen
-random ugly blocks like mossy stone, feels more like an amateur drew it which i like
dislikes: -biomes WAY too big
-water looks like this weird tropical turquoise, except for taiga
-snow biomes feel too arctic and vast, they used to feel more cozy and magical if that makes sense. smaller trees, less barren
-too many fricking birch forests, cherry trees, and other non-default forest stuff just feels wrong
-random sand patches in plains. why?
-no optional sprint mechanic, fixed with mod and still feels balanced
-wish it had old cobblestone, minor complaint bc u can fix this with a texture pack
-iron ore not dropping as a block, just a nostalgia thing
i’d like to see:
-scrapped C418 music lol
-maybe more removed stuff like rubies, idk what theyd be used for tho
-farlands biome would be so dope but i understand if people dont agree with that
Thoughts? I wanna know if other people feel the same way. Above all else I wish there was a better option to change how biomes, stone types, and trees generate.
