Goethe C1-passed

I just wanted to let you all know about my experience with Goethe C1 since I was desperate for more information before my own examen. So I’ve been studying German for 1.5/2 years but in an intensive rhythm since I really wanted to work here after uni and I needed this certificate. I would recommend a deep focus on vocabulary and immersion!!( magazines, taggesschau, podcasts). I worked almost all the test books available: Mit Erfolg, Prufungsexpress, Prufungstraining, Werkstatt C1 and Projekt C1 neu. Werkstatt C1 was the easiest and I think it would be a good idea to start with it and lern some vocabulary from the tests and it also has some exercises. Projekt C1 neu was the hardest, especially for listening, but that makes it a great training. As for the actual exam:

Reading: 93/100 Vocabulary is key. Work as much tests as you can so you can train the specific parts and be mindful of the time. I hated part 3 but I had a decent one in the actual exam. The vocabulary and topics were not easy, that is why you have to learn as many words as you can. Difficulty level was similar to the tests where I scored similar grades.

Listening: 77/100 I really thought I failed this part. I read similar opinions on reddit before and they are totally on point. It is harder than the testbuchs. I would say Projekt c1 neu test come closer in terms of difficulty. The vocabulary in the tasks and on the tape was complex and hard to follow.

Writing: 93/100 I really liked writing and I worked with a teacher for this and speaking. Lern certain structures( there are examples in Testbooks) and the topics are around popular things in Germany.

Speaking: 85/100 I practiced with a teacher and had learned a structure beforehand. Learn the connecters and have specific vocabulary. I was a bit emotional for this part.

This test is by no means easy, especially the listening. Good luck for everyone having this test, I understand the pressure!! Reading and especially listening are hard. So try to focus on these two tasks.
