Seriously tho why is drug use so normalized?

dont make some dumb arguement saying caffeine is a drug too. Im talking actual substances with much more danger like coke heroin etc. im not american and i see videos of people where they talk about their thesis on life and they casually include their drug use. I couldnt help but look at it as if they were promoting the use. I understand that its none of our buisness but do we seriously all forget the side effects of what comes after?
