Has the "Garmin releasing an OLED Fenix means the end of MIP devices" crowd had enough time to calm down from "Garmin introducing a subscription service means the end of their 'free' data" yet?

The last few days have contained some fun doomsday reads.

I'm probably Garmin's ideal customer (perhaps a sucker?). The only thing I care that my watch does is to track runs. I used a Garmin watch for 7 years before I even realized that challenges, badge points, and rankings were a thing. As long as the ability to GPS track runs while viewing mile splits and pace stays available, i'll be happy happy.
