Too much lag!!!!!!!
I’ve been using the Galaxy S22 Plus SD version, and let me tell you, describing this phone is a bit of a head-scratcher. Despite its premium price tag, it’s been a rollercoaster ride. The lag isn’t constant, but the response time after I tap something and the animation delays are downright frustrating. Swiping down the notification panel feels like waiting for a slow elevator (and here I am, with the Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra in the house, gliding smoothly). Even using Samsung Pay on the lock screen stumbles a bit. And don’t get me started on the camera—intelligent optimization cranked up to the max seems to be the phone’s kryptonite.
Now, about longevity: Why does a nearly $1000 phone struggle to last even 2 years, let alone the promised 4 years of OS updates? I’m a One UI enthusiast, firmly entrenched in their ecosystem (Galaxy Watch, Buds, and eyeing that Tab S9), but the system animation and fluidity need a serious upgrade. Oh, and RAM management? My trusty old OnePlus 5 laughs at this shiny brick—it handles memory better. I’ve even pulled off two factory resets post-One UI 6 and 6.1 updates, but the fluidity situation remains subpar.
I forgot to mention that using Android Auto on this phone is a nightmare. There's a minimum two-second delay to register my fingerprint and another five seconds to unlock the device. Additionally, opening WhatsApp or even the notification panel lags terribly. Could my device be faulty? Will Samsung service this phone even though it's out of warranty?
Update: finally my s22 plus died. It was a horrible run. Hated every moment with this phone. I upgraded to s23 and my father was using this device. A week back i decided to reboot the device and it was the ending. This will be my last Samsung phone.
