Beware of Samsung.

On 7/29/24, I purchased a Samsung smart ring from Best Buy for $427.99. It was my second Samsung smart ring, having bought one for my girlfriend the week before. The total for both was $855.98.

My girlfriend quit wearing hers as she claimed the readings were inaccurate, so it's sitting in a desk drawer. Mine had a faulty case. It would charge when hooked up to external power, but was dead as a doornail when trying to charge on its own power. This seems to be a common issue with these cases.

I sent mine in for a warranty repair after getting a return authorization from Samsung. They just wanted the case, not the ring or cable, which made sense to me.

Today, they sent me a repair bill for $366.97 saying it was out of warranty with no further explanation.

I have my receipts and will proceed accordingly, but I can't stress enough how this is wrong on multiple levels. The charging box was pristine and never left my bedroom as I only used the ring for sleep tracking (which I feel is largely inaccurate compared to my other sleep trackers, but that's a story for another day).

It was obviously a warranty repair, yet it wasn't. No explanation given.

Samsung, do you hear that sound? It's the sound of me brushing my hands together and walking away from your products. I'll also blast it out on social media if I can help even one poor soul from being ripped off by you.
