Trailer hitch

Hey all, I have a 2024 Ed 1, and am wondering what sort of trailer hitch I should get to have on hand. I don't own a trailer currently, so I don't have a target height or towing weight in mind; I'd just like to have a hitch that I could keep in the bed/frunk so I'd be able to tow when the need arises. I'm thinking for things like the occasional flatbed or U-Haul trailer.

If there's a good 'default' option I could get to handle many basic use cases, that's what I'm wanting to know, even if it's rated for lower than the full towing weight. Basically, what height should I aim for (do I need a drop of a certain amount?) and weight limit, ball size, etc.? And at what point up the tow rating would I likely need to get a fancier weight-distribution hitch or some other type that's more trailer specific?

Also, should I look into any kind of wiring hookup adapter or harness? It's been years since I last owned a truck and the plugs were different back then, so I'd imagine something might be needed to hook up older trailers.

Thanks in advance!
