My Friend's Wife backstabbed me and ruined my friendship over a joke. Am I in the wrong?

So I was working at a factory and I became best friends with my trainer and we’ve known each other for around 7 months. We became extremely close. We hung out every weekend, we went to concerts together, and we even went on vacation together a couple of weeks ago. But whatever we hung out it would be her and her wife. (Lesbian Couple) and I’m gay so it never felt weird. But one day I made a joke that I had made with my other friends. (Most of my friends are women and they know I’m gay) about whatever we got into an argument I would say “I’m not gonna argue with you let’s kiss” Well I did that with my best friend one time and her wife freaked out telling me to stop. So I instantly apologized and moved on. While we were on vacation we made sexual jokes all the time because it was just normal for us to do that. My best friend made the same kiss joke on that trip so in my head I thought it wasn’t a big deal. So a couple of days ago I made the same joke again on a group chat we had. And my best friend texted me yesterday saying that she’s cutting me off because her wife doesn’t feel comfortable with me talking to my best friend anymore over a joke made by a gay man. Also, keep in mind they are also 10 years older than me. I’m 20. The likely hood of us hooking up is next to none because I feel zero feelings for her. I tried to apologize to her wife but she blocked me on everything. And I texted my best friend thanking her for all the good memories we had together and we just stopped talking to each other. And I just feel extremely upset that I lost my best friend over a joke that she has made to me before and has said the worst stuff to me. Was my joke really that bad to end an entire friendship or is her wife just extreme? Because even my Best Friend agreed with me but she followed what her wife said. What do you think?
