Would I still enjoy it if I never watched South Park but really enjoyed Stick of Truth?

I never really watched a full single episode of the show but seen some clips and find them funny. I just want to know if it's going to be heavily referencing the show to the point I won't understand any or is it like Stick of Truth where I can enjoy it despite not watching any?
