Sound deadening and improving audio quality

Hey guys,

Looking to add some sound deadening mat to my doors to reduce plastic rattle and make the speakers sound better? How much mat do I need to order? Is it worth upgrading the speakers leaving the stock Sony amp? I have a sub in the place of spare tire, is it possible to upgrade it keeping the wiring and Sony amp?
