Could I go up another .25 oz for lures?

I have a rod that says it’s medium, and the website said it can use lures from 1/32 to 1/4 oz. Would I be able to go up to 1/2 oz just to use some other lures? My crankbaits are above 1/4, and I’d like to use those with this rod.
