Hexxen glitch

I think my playthrough is glitched. The hexxen isn't allowing me to teach skills to my party members. I tried to teach Pyromancy Trick and Roots That Reap to Ossa but it doesn't give me the option it just immediately puts it on my main character. This has never happened in any other playthrough. I'm playing as Levi with Abella and Ossa as companions.
