[FNV] Vortex for dummies?

Hey guys and dolls,

Does anyone have a 'For Dummies' guide on using Vortex for New Vegas? I cannot for the life of me get it to work at all. I never had any problems with the old NMM. I'd just download, install, enable and play. With Vortex I download, install, enable, play, wonder why nothing is working, look at Vortex to see if it's having any issues, it doesn't and I rip my hair out.
So if anyone has a step by step guide to modding F:NV in today's age I would really appreciate it.
