Song of the Week #270: Bump Heads

Welcome everybody to the fourth and last SotW of July. We're staying with 'Straight from The Lab' this week. As you all know from last week, 'Straight from The Lab' was originally made available as a seven-track bootleg mixtape in the United States, before being issued officially as a sixteen-track compilation album by Universal Music in Europe on November 7, 2003. The track that we will be listening to this week is actually not from the original mixtape version but rather the official re-release version that came out in late 2003.

'Bump Heads' is one of the many diss tracks released by Eminem that were aimed at Ja Rule during the rather lengthy Shady/Aftermath Vs. Murder Inc. beef. During the recording of the track, G-Unit member Tony Yayo was actually still in jail so as you would guess, he phoned in to do his verse.

Every week there will be a new song that gets featured at the top of the subreddit. Users can leave a comment and the song that gets the most votes might be the new Song of the Week. Suggestions for improving the next post are encouraged.
