“Unheard” SUN Records songs
Hi everyone! I posted a few pics yesterday regarding the SUN era of Elvis, and I’ll be posting a lot more SUN content in here! I like to dig a bit deeper into this period, and I’ve compiled a list of songs I think Elvis, Scotty, and Bill either sung live and never recorded, or were at least fooling around with in the studio during the time period. A few are confirmed, a few are speculation. There are obviously many more out there, but these are some of the ones I think are most credible.
• “Sittin’ On Top of The World” (M. Sheiks) • “Mess Around” (R. Charles) • “Satisfied” (M. Carson) • “Little Cabin Home On The Hill” (B. Monroe) • “We’re Getting Closer To Being Apart” (C. Feathers) • “Rag Mop” (J. Wills/D. Anderson) • “Uncle Pen” (B. Monroe) • “Always Late” (with your kisses) (L. Frizzell) • “Give Me More Of Your Kisses” (L. Frizzell) • “Pledging My Love” (F. Washington/D.Robey) • “Without You” (J. Sweeney) • “Born To Lose” (T. Daffan) • “Night Train To Memphis” (O. Bradley/D. Martin) • “Lovey Dovey” (The Clovers) • “Sixteen Tons” (M. Travis) • “Roll With Me Henry” (duet w/ Carl “Cheesie” Nelson) (E. James) • “Blue Guitar” (L. Frizzell) • “Oakie Boogie” (J. Tyler) • “Juanita” (C.Norton)
