Are Electric Scooters dorky? What say you young people?

My 21 year old just transferred to a large university and is hoofing it around in the AZ heat. She is hesitant to get a scooter because of the Dork factor. Skateboard isn’t the best idea because she carries a backpack with a lot of stuff.
