I just got prescribed effexor

Today i got prescribed effexor for major depression disorder but after reading so many posts about how terrible the withdrawal symptoms are i'm reconsidering the medication. I haven't started yet but the posts made me terrified, I'm not even sure I'll start now but I do need meds for my depression because it's really bad.

Apart from the terrible physical symptoms, lots of people have said they don't feel like themselves even after 6 months of quitting the medication, which makes me really scared.
