Fake Clients/Leads on Website

My wife and I have a small local business and started a small website used to sell items. Since the site went live, we get constant fake leads and buyers mostly signing up for our newsletter but also creating accounts (Example pic included). Names like mPsIrEQE ugcdJStpIlvcaOc and email addresses/phone numbers that are definitely fake. They never buy/bid on anything, we never get calls from any of them and it really doesn't seem to harm our website. I am assuming it is some robo stuff, but I'm not sure.

What do people get out of these obviously spam accounts? I mean, it IS a waste of time for me to go in and delete them from our system, but is it just to waste my time or is there a way for them to do something more nefarious or monetize it somehow?
