Triggering media - Characters that are just never hungry
I feel like my triggers are always so random / in the most unexpected places. I'm really not interested in shows/movies that depict EDs and even on the rare occasions I've watched them, they don't really trigger me at all. But what I've recently realized really gets me is characters that are just never hungry. Disordered eating is not part of their story line at all, it's just little offhand comments or actions where they say they're not hungry or refuse food but it's a pattern. Maybe no one else notices the pattern and it might not even be intentional on the writers' part but I notice! Usually it's implied that they're too preoccupied with something else to be thinking about food. It's not an obsession with food (or lack thereof) like most EDs are, it's the exact opposite of that, like losing weight out of neglect, not intentional. The idea of that always triggers me so much worse, I don't know why. And when I start to notice it, it's like I can't stop thinking about it and I become very fixated on the show/movie for a while. It makes me not want to eat for days. Sometimes it actually kills my appetite somehow. Can anyone relate?
