Character lock is stupid

Why is it that one of the TWO core mechanics of the game (Switching characters slots and collecting orbs) is taken away? It ruins the run, it doesn’t make it “Difficult” it makes it annoying, stuff like 100 mil enemy health, the enemy criting, group attacks are all semi preventable and can be worked against, locking my floater to the first slot so that they get their pants pulled down and have the 3 cane finger special delivered to their ass. Dokkan is more than capable of adding difficulty without removing mechanics and I still standby this being one of the worse additions to Dokkan in my 10 years of playing
