Ziggy’s results were so surprising we ordered another test

Ziggy was born at the SPCA and his litter had a warning that the puppies were Rottweiler mixes and could not live in military housing (large military population by us). He had the coloring and a lot of the mannerisms, so we took for granted that his mom was mostly Rottweiler with a smaller breed mixed in (at 3 years old he is about 36 pounds). My pre-testing guess was mostly rottie with some pit bull or staffie and chihuahua. I also thought he may have a little chow since some of the inside of his mouth is black.

His wisdom results surprised us so much we ordered a test from Embark. Highest breed was Frenchie with only 2% Rottweiler. Embark was spot on for his physical characteristics and, thankfully, said he’s not predisposed to bad health conditions. He’s 61% guard dog breeds which also makes sense - he likes to position himself equidistant from everyone in the house and he really doesn’t like when we go on walks and he can’t see one of us. They were also right that he’s 100% a good boy - very caring and gentle with his family and his neighbors while being super cautious of people who have bad vibes.
