Extremely Itchy Dog
My 8 month old Doberman/hound mix is SO itchy. I’ve had other dogs with allergies/hotspots/etc. but nothing like this. He scratches his stomach with his hind legs, chews his paws nonstop, and even scratches the inside of his mouth/his gums. It seems to be just getting worse.
We’ve tried: switching food to grain free/formula for itchy skin, Claritin, Zyrtec, and fish oil. He’s up to date on flea meds and we also treat our yard for fleas given that we’re in southern Louisiana. We have a vet appointment in a week to further troubleshoot but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as to what it may be and what ultimately worked.
