Hip Replacement Surgery - advice - 2.5 year old yellow lab

Hello! Our sweet 2.5 English lab is getting hip replacement surgery on Friday. We will have to get the other hip replaced in about a year. We noticed he had a limp one day and a week later it went away and then a month later it came back and he had no mobility. We got him from a reputable breeder and imagine our shock when we found out he had severe hip dysplasia in both hips. If anyone has any advice for us or experiences you've had. We've set him up and area in our house and we have his crate set up for him to sleep at night when we're not home. We have all the enrichment (bowls, lick mats, toys etc). The doctors told us the recovery up to 8 weeks. We're having a baby in about 10-12 weeks so l'm worried about his recovery so any advice would be so help. He's really our first born child & i love him more than anything so needless to say - anxious dog mom here. We know he has to have a cone but we ordered a lick sleeve - curious if anyone has had success with this? Thank you in advance!!!
