Seeking advice on physical tokens: matte or clear
Looking for advice on what you think looks better on the table for these standee tokens I made.
I usually play online, using tokens I create or draw from the HeroForge community. Online allows quick and easy creation of unique tokens that I can just drop on my VTT. But, I've gotten a desire to do some in-person games again, and came up with an idea to get my HF images on the table (without printing them) in a cheap and quick format.
Do do it I create a sheet of scaled images in GIMP and print them on vinyl sticker paper. I've tried clear (original idea) and matte, then stuck them to plastic microscope slides and a base. I feel this is more durable than paper standees, and will let me mark them with dry erase as well.
The question is: which looks better at a glance, the clear (transparent and somewhat muted) or matte (I could spend more time cutting them out, but are only viewable from one direction.)
