(Season 7 spoilers) Dexter is an hypocrite
Back in the day I remember watching season 7 of the show and I enjoyed it quite a bit for some reason. This time around I'm rewatching the whole series from beginning to end (thanks to the upcoming revival). And many flaws started to become more evident to me.
After the fourth season, the story got weaker and weaker. But not as bad as the moment Hannah McKay enters Dexter's life. She's the embodiment when the series went completely downhill.
I just finished watching S07E7 when Hannah poisons Sal Price, who dies of a heart attack right when he's confronting Dexter at his apartment. The cherry on top comes by the end of the episode, when Debra asks his brother that he should take care of Hannah. Make justice using his own "methods".
And of course, we already know Dexter won't do anything because of the relationship he has with Hannah. And that makes him a damn hypocrite. Harry's code dictates that he must kill only bad people, other killers in another words. Hannah murdered an innocent guy just because he was on her tails (not to mention her prior victims before that). And his new boyfriend won't do anything about it.
Not gonna lie, this is the moment that now made me feel like stop watching the show. It's frustrating. Moreover considering how Dexter's decision consequences will fall over his poor and already broken sister. I hate that. And I hate him. But regardless, I will continue until the end (oh yeah I'm already dreading the moment when I'll have to endure season 8 again).
Sorry for this little rant. I needed to get that out of my chest. But how do you feel about season 7 overall? Let me know. Thanks for reading.
