Can't reshape weapons even though I've extracted the pattern?

So, I've extracted the pattern for Tarnation (need this for the quest step) and Sweet Sorry (don't care about this one, but it proves it's not a random event), but It still says "Pattern has not been unlocked" when I go to shape the weapon. Any ideas as to what to do here?
