Looking for tips on wizard

I've been playing Bard and ranger mostly. I wanted to try a new class and wizard looked cool but oh boy is it super hard. Pvp I feel confident but pve I take way too much damage and use up my heals. also magic missile is terrifying to shoot around teammates because I end up hitting them. Any tips appreciated!
