Learning to play for my son

I'm old and not great at games but my son really wants me to play with him so I'm trying to learn.

Obviously I'm mostly playing on my own to try to learn. Because I'm terrible at this. I die in the 1st floor continuously.

Sometimes people join my elevator as I'm waiting to leave. Does having me die right away effect them at all? I dont want to ruin someone else's game.
