Questions about the shared kitchens at BDTU

Hej guys! I am an international student currently researching accommodations at BDTU. I don’t have any experience about shared kitchens, so I have couple of questions about it:

• How are the refrigerators shared usually? BDTU told me that there will be a large refrigerator in the kitchen but I don't know how much space can I get for storing food.
• What is the process of cooking and eating. I heard the kitchen is for 12-18 tenants so I am not sure if it will be crowded. And I'd love to eat together with other people to know new friends but I don't know how the culture works there.
