Does anyone know how to make gravity defying hair?

Hello I’m a beginner I just can never seem to find an answer to this. Im wondering if doll hair is similar to wig hair and if using hair spray or whatever will help it stand up on its own. Or is there a way to include wire? I need to make braids hold in the air. I hope this doesn’t sound stupid.
