i made a beanie by yarnspirations, and followed the pattern exactly. but i’m really not happy with the result. can someone help me fix this?

it’s also really tight on the head, maybe because i used acrylic yarn instead of stretchy alpaca yarn or something. it looks fine from the front, but hilarious at the back! this is a gift, so i’d like it to come out as neat as possible. thanks!
