Looking for an alternative for AMEX Platinum.

CREDIT PROFILE

    • * Gas $: With the Amex, we take advantage of free Walmart+ and use their gas stations, but only for 1 car because other is electric.
    • * Travel $: Virtually $0, if any travel is done, most of the time it is by car, and we dont travel a lot. Maybe once a year if that. When we do travel, we use AMEX points to cover almost everything.
    • * Do you plan on using this card abroad for a significant length of time (study abroad, digital nomad, expat, extended travel)?: No

  • * Active US military?: Was, but now just ANG, so I pay for the AMEX now.

PURPOSE

  • * What's the purpose of your next card (choose ONE)?: Saving money, earning rewards, benefits.
  • * Do you have any cards you've been looking at?: Citi Custom Cash, U.S. Bank Cash+ (this one confuses me but seems like a good option) Captipal One Savor, Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve, U.S. Bank Smartly, Robinhood Gold Card.

Some more background on my situation; I dont know if AMEX platinum is right for me now that I have to pay, but I like the benefits from it. But i dont use every benefit it offers (such as travel or some of the shopping coupons) and would like a card that gives benefits and cashback/points, but isnt focused on travel.
I dont mind paying any fees so long as I get my money's worth.
I currently have a little over 100k AMEX points i'll need to use unless I can somehow transfer them to another card.
Also, does my current Visa Platinum get 5% on gas, or is mine different from this Visa Platinum ?
