Important lore?

I’m new to the reddit and discord communities, but I have been playing Cos inconsistently for about 2 years and recently started getting really into it with my bf. I (just now actually) found out that there is lore to this game as I was scrolling this subreddit. Is there any major, important lore I should know? I really want to learn more about this game. I guess a better question would be where could I go to read more lore? I figured out that each creature has its own lore as far as personality and behavior, but does it go beyond that?
