Aurora's Birthday Party
We started our kids birthday parties with friends at kindergarten inviting the parents that year Saturday before school started to get to know everyone as they would have 12 more years together. We planned it for a Saturday breakfast so families could still have family time later. We had sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs with mixed fruit and breakfast drinks. It was always a big hit and everyone wanted to come to meet children, parents, kindergarten teachers, babysitters and even some grandparents came. We found out a few years later that the tradition was followed every year after our last child finished kindergarten. Teachers said it made the transition to kindergarten easier as the kids remembered each other after the party. Teachers got volunteers to cook food and to clean up later.
