CRE - Interview Tips for Career Pivot from Investment Sales to Acquisitions/Development

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could offer interview advice for an investment sales analyst looking to pivot into acquisitions/development with an REPE firm or developer.

What would be some appropriate responses to the following questions during an interview with a potential employer? Also, what are some things you shouldn’t say in response to these questions? :

• Why do you want to leave brokerage for acquisitions/development?

• Why do you want this particular role at this company?

• Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
