Missing coax port from apartment wall. Maintenance says they can’t fix it, and id have to call the internet provider.

Hello,

I’m writing because i’m skeptical and need advice before more of my time is wasted. Recently I moved into an apartment, and purchased wifi from xfinity. I I found out my apartment has no working coax port in the wall. Upon contacting maintenance, they told me they cannot fix it because they just purchased this building, and don’t really understand the wiring in the basement. They told me i’d have to call and have my provider install a coax. I contacted xfinity, and have an appointment. But I have seen posts saying they don’t install coax ports in apartments because of certain complications. Is this true? I’ve seen ppl say it depends on ur area. I am in the South Side of Chicago, and just need a straight answer. I’d hate to waste the tech, and my time tomorrow if it cannot be done in an apartment. Does anyone have an answer to this??
