Self-studying Chinese for 3 years - next steps

I'm 24 and I've been self-studying Chinese for the past 3 years now while I've been working. I'm around an HSK 6 level (mock tests). Although I'm a bit confused about what I should do now. I'm considering going straight to China or Taiwan to further study Chinese at a school and see where it'd take me. However, I only have an associate's degree and I'm wondering if it's just better to transfer and get my bachelor's first and then try. Any suggestions, advice, and or thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic. Thanks.
