right to live?

it's funny how they say that the world is a fair playground where only those who work hard have the right to enjoy their life - right? right to enjoy life? do we need to earn that right as well? why does everything in this world need to be earned?

you need money to do this, do that - to enjoy life, but we're spending your life just to enjoy life? by the time we're 25, most of us work hard to earn and then start enjoying and living for ourselves, only to realize that when we were telling ourselves stories to work hard and earn the right to enjoy life, we forgot to actually enjoy it. we forget our moments of joy — the tea we could have with our mom, or that bike ride with our dad on a friday evening, or dancing like crazy with our friends at our favorite concerts. but we were too busy revising chapters in the two-hour slots that we had scheduled, otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to vomit it out in exams.

worst part? the people who do enjoy these moments and don’t worry about this "right to earn" are looked down upon - not only by society but also by themselves. they sign up for jobs they never wanted, just to fulfill their guilt of enjoying life when everyone else around them was studying. idk. funny world we live in.
