Drunkard To CA @ 35

was reading a post on r/mumbai sub today about a 32 y/o unwillingness to live & stuff, the only person who comes to my mind after reading that is my neighbour who had a terrible time growing up

  • my neighbour's parents used to fight daily day & night to the point that people would slam their doors on their face, mother was a narcissist bitch, father was a true gentleman. members would not allow their kids to play with him - he was socially isolated & eventually became lonely

  • during college days he took up drinking which became a habit, all on father's money. he used to come home late night and wake up in the afternoon & leave. ALL HIS 20's THIS WAS HIS DAILY ROUTINE.

  • mother died when he was 29, father was weak & brittle. only a handful people came to the funeral, none from the society.

  • something changed, he quit drinking & started working at ca firm doing basic computer entries. started pcc (ca inter) & cleared in 3rd attempt. no one knew what he was doing since he didn't talk to anyone because no one used to talk to him

  • one fine day they were shifting for rent to other place as this was quite small (1RK - 250 sqft), he was 37 by then, someone in the committee asked his father where are they going since they were packing all the household items - his father said that 'bete ki shadi tay hui hai isiliye bade ghar mein jaa rahe hai'

  • uss din baat baat mein pata chala ki vo CA ban gaya hai - final 1st attempt mein clear kiya and 37 mein shaadi ki

  • didn't ever see him again
