What would you buy with approx £20k

I’m looking to buy a new car. I’m 31 and don’t have kids. I won’t drive for work much but will drive to the north of Scotland occasionally to fish and walk etc. In the main I’ll do shorter daily journeys around Glasgow. I’d say max 7k miles a year.

I used to own an old E46 330ci and absolutely loved it to bits but I couldn’t afford the upkeep as it fell to bits and I was only just out of uni.

I have drove a fiesta for the last 7 years, just a 1.2 litre petrol and it hasn’t missed a beat. Excellent wee car.

Anyway now I am looking for a new car and while I would like something with a bit of power, I’m not looking for a flying machine that is going to cost a fortune to run.

My criteria is:

Petrol Reasonable on fuel efficiency Not older than 2020 Ideally around upwards of 180bhp Don’t need a huge amount of space, only ever likely to have one other person in the car.

I live around Glasgow and will travel north occasionally and while it’s not too cold it is very often wet and so I am wondering about the rwd on newer vehicles…my old 330ci slid everywhere!

I do like to buy a car and keep it for a long time ideally so I am looking for reliability and longevity too.

So far I have been considering

BMW 320i Audi A4 40 tfsi or A5 coupe Mercedes C class Lexus is300h

Any advice or pointers would be appreciated.
