My College Might Lose Its Recognition, and I’m Freaking Out
So yeah, I’m two months away from my final exams, finishing my B.Pharma, and now suddenly there’s news everywhere that my college’s recognition might get revoked. Apparently, there’s been a legal case going on for a while about some approval/accreditation issues (basically, the college was running without meeting certain required standards). Now, it’s looking like the authorities might actually pull the plug, and if that happens, I have no idea what it means for students like me.
I’ve spent four years and nearly ₹10 lakh on this degree, and now there’s a chance it could end up worthless. Like, what happens if the college actually loses recognition? Do they just tell us, "Oh well, tough luck"? Do we have to redo exams? The entire course?? I was planning to go for CAT and an MBA, but now I don’t even know if I’ll have a valid degree by then.
And the worst part? These colleges run education like a business, which, fine, whatever. But they have zero accountability. They’ll take students, take their money, run for years, and when shit hits the fan, it’s the students who get screwed over.
I don’t even know what to do at this point. Has anyone been through something like this before? What actually happens if a college gets derecognized?
