Cat has given up on litter box

My cat has given up on using the litter box, I keep it very clean, I clean the floor super well each time, I’ve moved the litterbox to a new location. I’m losing hope and patience, he does this 3 times a day now. This is a kind of new problem, but has always had an issue with the box slightly. Had him around 5 years, he’s around 8 years old.
