Good budget SPL subwoofers to pair with my studio monitors?
(Picture of my current audio setup for reference. Ignore the mess, currently preparing for finals lol)
Hello everyone! I’m currently looking for some ‘budget’ subwoofers to pair with my KRK Classic 5 powered monitors. The studio monitors sound really good using them as desktop speakers, but I crave for a little bit more bass. I’m not looking for the highest quality sounding sub since I don’t mix and I don’t really use subwoofers for critical listening, but I also don’t want anything that sounds too muddy. I am just looking for an SPL sub that hits HARD when listening to low frequencies. I will be running it through a Yamaha AG-03 audio interface, so I’d prefer a powered sub. My budget is around $250-300 (maybe a bit more if I save up a little) and I am open to used options as well.
I have considered:
SVS SB-1000 12”
Klipsch SPL-120
Or any decent 12” sub I can find on FB Marketplace
I have also considered getting the KRK 12S sub, but it’s too expensive for what I plan on using it for.
