I feel scammed

I got an offer to purchase Melodie and her hypercharge, but after I purchased the brawler, it said that I needed to upgrade it to lvl 11 to buy de hyper... but I don't have enough points to get her to 11... I thought it could remain "dormant" as it happened with Ruffs hypercharge which I got randomly and is just there until I can lvl him up.
