Sex scenes in the mammoth hunters are starting to get annoying

Started the earth children series and I'm in the 3rd book and to be honest the sex scenes are becoming a bit much. I never had a problem with sex scenes in the books I've read but its starting to get tedious reading 8 pages devoted to early man bumping uglys on the frozen steppes of ice age Europe. Its gotten to the point of me skipping the passages and I'm noticing how many pages its taking up. Anyone else notice this ?
