Phone could cause fire when pumping gas theory

Had a discussion with my sister about this topic, I argue that this is a long lasting myth which has been debunked multiple times by multiple sources for example by the likes of the “Mythbuster”. She argue back saying it wouldn’t be a myth if it hasn’t happened which I’m just dumbfounded by.

I still believe you shouldn’t be looking at your phone either way since it’s a distraction while pumping gas.
