The obsession with hair typing needs to stop

Now I'm going to hold your hand while I say this but a lot of people on this sub only ask what their hair type is so they can sleep peacefully at night knowing they don't have 4c hair.

There are so many hair typing post on this sub. Like an obnoxious amount. I'd be less annoyed if these same people also asked for hair care advice but they almost never do. God help you if you tell them they have 4c hair, all of a sudden they start arguing back at you and get mad like they didn't ask the damn question.

And I've seen the way people salivate over type 3 hair in this sub while being incredibly dismissive towards type 4 hair, particularly 4c. I'm here to say that it's embarrassing and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
